{"id":1578,"date":"2017-02-14T12:24:22","date_gmt":"2017-02-14T11:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/awareness-now.org\/?p=1578"},"modified":"2017-02-14T12:28:38","modified_gmt":"2017-02-14T11:28:38","slug":"truth-is-a-tricky-word","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/awareness-now.org\/?p=1578","title":{"rendered":"Truth is a tricky word"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every day we use language to express our thoughts and feelings. Saying something, implies meaning. For example, when someone says &#8220;today is a warm day&#8221;, you and I interpret it as a description of\u00a0the weather. When someone would say &#8220;there is a lot of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">warmness<\/span> today&#8221;, we may still interpret the same way. But what and where is &#8220;warmness&#8221;? Can we seek and find &#8220;warmness&#8221; anywhere? Does it exist?<\/p>\n<p>The word &#8220;truth&#8221; is a noun. When speaking about &#8220;<strong>The Truth<\/strong>&#8221; people seem to speak from great authority and seem to carry over a lot of meaning. They imply\u00a0we can seek it and find it somewhere (as a kind of object) and then &#8216;know&#8217; it. Often the suggestion is that there is ONE Truth, implying other things are non-truth. Often it is implied we should &#8220;believe their truth&#8221;, and not believe others.<\/p>\n<p>Isn&#8217;t all of this is a very tricky side effect of language? Most people would agree that \u201cwarmness\u201d does not actually exist. Many people still believe however that \u201cThe Truth\u201d exists somewhere, and they have the best belief system describing it.<\/p>\n<p>What if \u201cThe Truth\u201d does not exist at all, what are we left with? Well,&#8230;EVERYTHING and EVERYONE is still there! We can be aware of the mystery of Life, we can be compassionate towards \u2018others\u2019, we can take care of our environment, our Planet. We can grow in Awareness and Compassion. If you want to call that \u201ctruth\u201d, fine.
